Another storm hit close to Keuruu in Central Finland

On friday during the camporee Central Finland was hit by a powerfull storm Asta causing a lot of damage to forests, houses and power lines. Just a day after the Faithbook Camporee 2010 was over another storm, named Veera, hit the area causing even more damage than the one before. This time the worst area was only less than 50km from Iso Kirja. On camping area in Uurainen more than 30 caravans were badly damaged by high winds and felling trees. Three persons were injured.

You can see some video footages from the damages. There first one will have finnish sound, but you will still see results of the storm in Uurainen camping area on video. Click this link to see video of daily paper Keskisuomalainen.

Keskisuomalainen will show an another video taken from an airplane over the areas of Konnevesi.

These things make one to give thanks to our Heavenly Father because the Camporee only got some high wind gusts, but nothing bigger. The damage was only some miles away.

Faithbook Camporee 2010 is over

We thank God for beeing with us here in Iso Kirja on the 10th Trans-European Division Camporee which has yesterday night been ended. Closing seremony became a moment of memories for many of us participating this Faithbook Camporee 2010 as a pathfinder, counsellor, club leader, pathfinder leader in various levels and as a volunteer. Special thanks to Bobby Bovell who shared pieces of faith from the Book of Books, Paul Tompkins, a division pathfinder leader, Jani Virolainen, pathfinder leader of Finland, Ida Hakkarainen, a camporee worker who seemed to be everywhere, activity leaders and many others.

Closing seremony ended with a presentation of the 11th TED Camporee in the Netherlands year 2014 and lowering the Pathfinder Flag, which was then passed to the pathfinder leader of the Netherlands.
