First rain at the Camporee

Friday, July 30th, 2010

Wednesday was a special day when it comes to weather. A new all time high temperature was measured in Eastern Finland, outside of city of Joensuu. Temperature rose up to 37.2°C.

At the Faithbook Camporee we measured highs up to 34°C and the day was pretty sunny with some clouds during the morning. First rain came the last night early on friday morning. Light rain kept on for app. two hours. The sky is now clear and this day is expected to be warm, but in pleasant 25°C with chances for more rain during afternoon hours. We pray God that we could still have our planned Market Day for the mission project in South Sudan.

Sun is shining at the Camporee

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Thanks to the Lord first two days at the Faithbook Camporee has been sunny and very warm. One could even (actually) count those few drops of “rain” on tuesday night. Problems, if we can call them problems, are how to cope with lots of sunshine and dehydration. With scarfs/hats, sunscreen and and lots of water we will do that. For many of us this is nothing new because we experienced warm days 4 years ago in Denmark and 8 years ago in Poland.

Yesterday (wednesday) highs were around 32°C (90°F) and thursday is said to beat temperature records for last 60 years. We’re expecting highs up to 34°C.

10-day weather forecast for Keuruu will be found here.
